Jenn Bartell has loved photography since she was able hold a camera. She was always following her dad around with an (now super old) automatic film camera mimicking the sound the camera made when the film advances.
She attended a high school outside of her district because it had a photography program she could attend and from there she was hooked. Continuing on to a Specialized Photography college in Santa Barbara, Brooks Institute of Photography, she then found her niche in Portrait photography, children and weddings especially.
After graduating with a BA in commercial advertising photography in 2005 Jenn went to New York to assist a Commercial Advertising children’s photographer. After a year of experiencing New York, Jenn was talked into moving to San Diego to start a studio with one of her best friends she attended Brooks with. After living in San Diego for 2 years and never starting the studio, Jenn decided it was tempted to move back to her hometown, Sacramento, with the man she loves and really settle in . Now with her boyfriend as an assistant / 2nd photographer /marketing and business help, (a fellow high school photography student, and product design major at SF state) they have worked together making the business the best and most successful it has ever been!
They reside in East Sacramento with their two pups Rocky and Lucy. When not shooting and editing they spend their extra time working on projects on the new house, playing soccer, hanging out with friends and family, and watching Mad Men, a show that has glued them to the TV for the last 2 months !
