This kid… my goodness. How is he FIVE!? Why does five sound so big!? Where is my baby!?? I sure do love his heart. He is so excited to finally be five! He showed me so many new things he was able to do this morning! Karate kicks onto the couch… see in the snack box on his tip toes… swinging karate kicks… and so many more karate moves. My boy is so smart, he asks so many amazingly thought out questions… he loves to read, and pretend he’s a ninja! He loves being with friends and traveling. He’s goofy and loves to laugh. Im so excited to see what he becomes in life, but also don’t ever want him to grow up. He has to be the best big brother out there, always so patient with Archie, teaching him, although sometimes bad things… its mostly good things. Archie is so lucky to have Cal to grow up with. Here are some birthday portraits we took yesterday. This first one shows his cute little sweet face that I love so much.

Documenting Children is something I have always been passionate about… even more so now that I have children of my own to create and document memories for…
I am very excited to announce this class! I have been thinking about doing something like this and when I put it out into the world, I was overwhelmed with the positive response. Not only was I excited because I get the opportunity to teach others some of my photography knowledge but because I get to help other parents learn how to give their children beautifully documented memories! Something I have always loved to do.
Looking back at my own childhood memories, I have always wanted to see more!! I want to see what my favorite pair of shoes were when I started becoming a decisive little toddler, who read me my favorite book and the setting of where that took place… I want to see more storytelling pictures of my mom with her epic pregnant belly that couldn’t fit behind a station wagon steering wheel and all the little details of her journey through motherhood with my brother and I. When I photograph my boys, this is always my motivation. I really try to document their lives and milestones but beyond that, I really love when I can get an image that will tell them the whole story of that day, event or moment.
